My Journey

Hi! I’m Áine. Im a West Yorkshire born performer. I have been lucky enough to work all over the globe travelling, performing and doing what I love for a living. Along this journey I found yoga. Whilst on a UK tour I tried various yoga studios around the UK and expanded my knowledge and practice. I have been practising now for around 5 years and yoga has completely turned my world upside down (in the best way!) I have found a physical practice that serves my body in the kindest and best way. I have found a mental practice that has changed my way of thinking, allowing for more compassion, kindness and attention. This has lead me to leading a more wholesome and peaceful life. Yoga has taught me so much more than I ever knew imaginable. It taught me to be kind to my body, that I am seperate from my thoughts. It taught me tools to calm my breath, anxiety and stress. It has taught me lessons on the mat that are now absolute musts in my daily life. I have so much to thank yoga for. I hope yoga teaches you all the things you hope for and more.

 My style

As I have been dancing my entire life, my yoga style absolutely reflects this. My classes are generally all about going with the flows and ebbs of life with some challenges along the way. I love moving from posture to posture in the most organic way, fluid yet strong. My style is vinyasa flow, although my training was in ashtanga. Ashtanga has taught me so much about the tradition of yoga and where it comes from. I never thought I would love Ashtanga like I do today! I take all the traditions I have learnt and bring them into a Vinyasa style, so expect all the trimmings:- mudras, meditation, affirmations, flowing with breath, sandskrit etc. I try to be as authentic as yoga can be with a modern twist. My classes are art in the making. Combining music that moves me, moves that challenge me and lots of thought provoking moments.

I have been practising yoga for around 5 years. I am a professional performer and have been working in the performing arts industry for the last 10 years. I first started to love the physical practice of yoga, but now I adore how the other aspects of yoga keep me hooked. Meditation, breath work and the teachings yoga has to offer, on and off the mat, has opened up my entire life to a wealth of knowledge that helps me live a more peaceful, happy and wholesome life. I am so grateful to have a physical practice that is every bit as good for my body and it is for the mind.
